This building was originally a garden storage but has long been abandoned so Duke Nightray went to extreme measures to get it cleaned and redesigned a long time ago but who knew it would be a good location to keep his daughter hidden. The building is located at the far end of the garden by going through a maze that had been closed off now because it was much too dangerous to venture into and people could get lost, unless of course they had a death wish. It was the perfect place. The name White Room was something the maids that cared for the child came up with because it was entirely white from the furniture all the way to the floor.
Bernard only allowed the two maids who were Iris's wet nurse to take care of her. They were not allowed to speak a word of the baby to anyone, especially Francis; the Head Butler of the Nigthray Dukedom. It didn't take long for Francis to learn about his young Lady and was disgusted by the Duke for abusing her. Francis was willing to care for the child and keep the matter hidden so long as no harm comes to her. Francis didn't want to risk Bernard from trying to kill off the child so if his cooperation meant that the baby would live then he was willing to take it to his grave. Bernard told Francis that it wasn't as though he's starving her in the room, he's only isolating her. The Head Butler was not convinced but he didn't want any more harm to come to the child. He had no authority over the Duke so he had no choice but to comply to his orders. He was in charge of teaching her how to read and write. Francis noticed she has a very intelligent mind as her IQ had surpassed every single adult so far, unaware that her knowledge and wisdom comes from her stored memories of past reincarnations.
It wasn't until after she started to learn how to walk that Bernard decided to do some experiments on her; starting with making her drink poison to see how fast her strange and monstrous body could cope with it. Of course, Francis was not aware of this piece of information at all. The poison only made her scream in pain from how hot it was down her throat but it did no damage to the young child and she went on as usual just moments later. Duke Nightray became ever fearful each coming day because of this and he made sure that the child was not allowed to make any friends nor know about matters of her family. As days turn to weeks and weeks turn to months and then years had passed, the child began growing beautifully with no resemblance of her parents at all.
One day, as Francis was teaching her a few lessons when she posed a question in regards to her name. This surprised the butler for he was sure the Duke had at least taken into account to name his own flesh and blood but then again, his paranoia would be the cause of her misfortune so he took it upon himself to name her 'Scarlet Iris Angela' after recalling past conversations with the Duchess about names. The young girl was delighted to have been given a name and had happily accepted it. Her isolation only increased her pure and naïve heart that she wondered if the outside was as beautiful as it was in the books that Francis had brought for her.
Another year or so had passed when she finally made a friend, he was someone much older than her with beautiful different coloured eyes who found her by chance. He was confused at first as to why she was in there and she too wondered from where he had come from because she's only ever seen those who come to care for her. Her new friend mentioned his name was Vincent. They became instant friends which probably has to do with him always visiting her but she had noticed he only comes when there are no maids or when Francis or her father were not around. It was a very peculiar feeling but she accepted it all the same. Vincent even brought along a younger person once as well; Elliot. Both of them had never seen her face even though she could see theirs from behind the bars on the door that were small enough to fit her arm. It was through this friendship that motivated her to see the outside world that Vincent proposed she escaped from the room just for a little while. At first she was hesitant but each time Vincent would persuade her and she'd escape whenever the maids left the door open unconsciously or when no one was really looking for her. She was unaware that it had been Vincent who had been aiding her in her escape. Her efforts were in vain because her father would catch her and punish her each time she escaped.
Many times the youngest Nightray daughter had escaped, each time she would return after being caught with slight bruises and cuts on her. Not that it seemed to matter because all she needed was a few minutes and her body heal on its own right away. The only time she returned of her own accord is when she found a man who was wounded at an alleyway, it was also the only time she's made it out so far but she valued the life of others and chose to save him. She gave him the name Kai, understanding how important names were just like when Francis named her. He became every loyal towards her soon after because a life debt must be paid. In the end, she gave up the idea of leaving when Kai entered her life but it wasn't long before Xerxes Break found her and recruited her to be part of Pandora. She wasn't aware of it at the time but it was Vincent who told Gilbert about a young child locked away for no one to see who has special abilities and from there, Gil told Xerxes and that's how Iris left the White Room for good.
